just think about it i have been using my laptop for 10 years and it works fine so either dave doesnt handle tech nicely or razer laptops are not build to last so is this somehting to be worried about as i am thinking of switching to the razer blade stealth

It depends on what you do. Dave playing games and editing his youtube video on the same laptop. Thats why it doesn't last that long. Razer blade still a pretty solid laptop tho

Thinkpad x1 extreme? It’s less gaming oriented, but it still has a decent graphics card and had pretty good cooling for being an ultra book, or maybe the ASUS Zephyrus? It’s a good gaming laptop that has really good cooling and ASUS makes sure it is also useful for content creators as well. But everyone has preferences, all devices have there pros and cons, you are just willing to compromise on things others wouldn’t and vise versa.

Recently got the MacBook Pro 13 inch, because I prefer to code on Mac and any major gaming I’m hoping I can just stream through Stadia or the upcoming Amazon Luna. I did really want a razor blade though.

Uhm do the speeds drop because of heat or because of them running out of drive cache and using 4 level cells for the rest of the drive? That's a big question because I've never heard of thermal throttling of NVMe drives.... Re: Acer.

I agree with you on the OLEDs. I see so many people brag "oh, I got the OLED display because I need to edit photos and videos" and here I am, I can't stand to do any color corrections with OLED displays. I don't know what it is but I find that I always second guess myself on color correcting with OLEDs.

Great video but tbh creators should use an external calibrated desktop monitor anyway and just have a decent FHD screen on the laptop. OLED UHD brings too many issues to a 15” laptop.

ha, I'm watching this on my 2019 XPS 15, but am not bothered because it's got the 1080p screen that weighs less, uses less battery, and is completely non-reflective. heating isn't really an issue for me because it's undervolted and I prop the rear of the laptop on like a chopping board or book for better airflow from underneath (and better keyboard angle). peace!

Hey Dave, are you sure that the SSD's throttle because of thermal issues, and not due to the limited SLC cache in the SSD? Once your transfer sum exceeds the SLC cache sum (meaning the cache is full), the transfer rate should be reduced significantly.
