It's promising to see this newer version. I bought a last gen version of this last xmas and it ran REALLY hot. That wasn't a problem in itself, but after 9 months it died. I can't fault HP customer service as they dealt with it quickly and gave me a full refund.

The Amd 4080h version has been given a more than mediocre display: 60hz, slow response time and abysmal color reproduction levels. The Intel version on the contrary is 144hz and it's apparently significantly better It's the Intel mafia at work. Moreover, performance drop significantly on battery. THAT'S why you should review the AMD version, Dave Lee, instead of bitching because your viewer suggest you to do so: it's not just a matter of temperature management. I have an HP Omen 15 laptop I absolutely love it, but yes the fan gets pretty loud especially in comfort mode. But for me who just plays casual games like Roblox , Minecraft, and Sea of Thieves. It runs perfectly.

I recently bought an omen desktop due to not being able to find components in stock to build my own. They make the only gaming computers at a semi reasonable price that don't look like spaceships with good specs

Got the Ryzen version from Best Buy on sale + open box for $600. Can't be beat for that kind of money. BB rotates their sales so if you miss it just be patient or try for one of the open box deals.

If you didn’t buy an unit with per-Key RGB backlit Keyboard you won’t be able to activate this. Omen 15 is available with single color backlit keyboard, 4-Zone colour keyboard and as I said per-Key RGB (which is the most expensive)
