Regarding the rumored small iPhone 12: I would absolutely love getting a 5.4 inch model. After a few years with the iPhone 8 Plus and a few months with the 11 Pro Max, I've realized that I want a compact phone with great cameras, at a non-flagship price level. I'm currently looking at the Pixel 4a and the Pixel 5, as well as the Samsung S10e. It wouldn't be hard for a compact iPhone 12 to bring me back to iOS again, especially not if the price are in the same mid-range span...

iPhone 12 might be the best iPhone since the 6. I might even switch back and get an iPhone 12 mini. I hope they at least give people an option to come with a charger.

Regarding the charging brick I feel like they should give people the option if they need it charge for it accordingly if not reduce the price slightly. Me I've only ever used Samsung but if I ever went to iPhone and they don't give me charger and I have to buy it separately that just puts me off

Feature wise, the iphone is dead to me since the 11. Apple has proven itself to not be able compete for the price they are asking. I want to believe because I really enjoy the OS. But I just don't want to pay a ton for specs android wise from 2, 3 years back. Another year no USB-c would also another slap in the face.

No charger? couldn't care... who needs another shitty 5w brick anyway? they could just give the option as 10-20 $ app store credit vs a charger. But saying a high refresh rate is "just a fast screen"? no. It is not just a screen but it is also your main and usually only input to the device. having it as fast as possible and stick to your finger is second to non. They could do 120hz when you touch it and gradually ramp down to 60 as the scroll goes slower.

I disaggree with your comment on high refresh rate screens. It doesnt matter how fast they make the chipset in the iphone, it still "feels" as fast as the previous iphone. High refresh rate is a real world, tangible difference that actually creates a huge differentiation to a 60hz phone. It actually feels way faster and its used every time you use the phone

I wish oneplus made one flagship-like model in the size of the iphone 5s, or some size like it... it's so unfortunate that great companies think the bigger the better! I'd love a small phone that can fit in my pocket and my normal female hand, and include all the high tech specs they put in huge phones.

I'm so done with massive phones, and I don't understand why so few android hardware makers aren't releasing smaller phones. I don't care about having a 6"+ screen, the second you need to frequently use a second hand or awkwardly have to fumble your grip to reach stuff you may as well get a tablet. Having a phone I can comfortably operate with one hand is SOOOO much more important than a 6"+ screen, 5.8" seems to be the human sweet spot for a phone.

This is quite easy to do on a presentation with that "no charger in box" thing. Someone will come out and say that it's for the environment, that everyone already has one... but if someone needs one, can buy it with the phone for $ 1, but if does not, than will receive an Apple One subscription for 1 Year for free. I would do it like that and nobody would feel hurt.

I think selling chargers separately makes a lot of sense. It's completely useless for people who already had an iPhone before and it's less wasteful. If they are really worried of people buying the phone without having a charger at home, I'm sure they will suggest buying a charger during checkout. Both online and in physical Apple Stores. The problem might still appear for people buying from other vendors, but even there I expect them to put small "warning texts" saying that a charger is not included. And soon enough it will be the new norm :P

If you’re buying a 1,000$ phone chances are you’ll probably have a charging brick laying around but still its hard to understand when they finally included a fast charger than to discontinue it the following year thats a tough one

I like to have the same lightning port with 15w. Even when it’s dark you can catch the hole without scratching the side of the charging hole.. it happens tome when i’m using my samsung with fastcharging cable.. the charging capability is just enough with the i phone 11 pro.

It's not that weird that they don't include the charger. The messaging is simple: "We are doing it for the environment. It's free if you need one". It's a trillion dollar company, they can afford to do this to maintain their image.

To be completely honest, if apple were to add a 90hz display not everyone would mind, as you said it's barely noticeable from 90 to 120hz displays

Not including a charger could be easily explained by giving the customer the choice to include it for an extra cost. I think a lot of people would leave it out because of the fact they already have multiple laying around the house. I would love to see apple do this. It would set a new standard.

I hope the iPhone 12 includes an OLED display and not an LCD. Surely they can get with the times and offer this on all of their phones. I don't care so much about the high refresh rate. I'll be going for the smaller one. At the moment I'm considering the iPhone 11 pro, mainly because if it's size and OLED screen. So if the original 12 ticks those boxes I will be 100% going for that !!
