I just bought this laptop. Here's my experience with it: I bought without the operating system, so i installed it on my own. 3 problems occured: 1. Sound from the speakers crackled 2. Laptop didn't read the Nvidia graphics card. 3. Laptop couldn't connect to wifi, only ethernet cable. I tried everything, installed drivers, uninstalled drivers. Took me the whole night. At last i installed Windows 10 from a friends USB. Problems 1 and 2 dissapeared when i installed drivers (the same ones from before). At last i connected laptop to the internet via ethernet cable and updated wifi drivers in the device manager (even though i installed them previously from the Acer website). After that everything worked fine. Oh, and if you have a problem with booting from USB, use Rufus and set partition scheme to GPT. Also, you have to enable boot in BIOS. I'n satisfied with the keyboard and the screen, but that's just my opinion, of course. Great review btw.

Boy i fucking love how they sell the 2017/18 models right along this and at the same pricepoint with no distinction apart from the cryptic model number, i got mine for 1000 euro and im pissed that i could have had this for LESS. This baffles me like nothing else could, for once i trusted a company without cheking that little bit more about it and i paid dearly for it.

with tax, in my area, it's around $723. I still think this laptop is super worth it, but the thing is, yes the keyboard is so bad. My left hand keeps getting stabbed by the sharp edges along that side of the laptop. speakers, also uh pretty bad. But whatever. Color seem ok to me, tbh. performance and everything else? definitely worth the money.

This is hands down best cheap laptop, not the nearly 900 dell you had in an earlier video. Not to mention you can find the intel version for around $600, that plus the fact you can easily upgrade the ram to 16gb as a dyi this thing is a great bargain. You can easily get a decent keyboard (even mechanical) for around $50, and no one games with the mouse pad (I hope) so the two main issues that were pointed out in the video are really non-issues.

for someone who only plays a few games and is not dedicated to gaming this is a good laptop i think (at least for me it is) i dont use it for anything other than a couple of games

If you get the 17" model you wont have that problem with the key board also for the screen just go into advanced display settings and raise the gamma a little bit and it helps a lot with making the screen just a little brighter

Got my nitro 5 for a while now, and I'm actually loving it, the nitrosense gave me problems for a few days but after that was resolve it was great. I'm left handed so the fact that the keys are shifted to the left was a great thing, specially the touchpad, most laptops have their touchpads either to the center or the right, so having a left sided touch pad makes it easier for me to use

I'd call this a fair review, and I haven't even seen it all. I love the performance for price but there are some odd choices. Yes, the trackpad location is weird, the keyboard is... it's fine... and the screen is, well... it's better in some ways than my desktop screen that I have plugged into the HDMI port. The Nitro 5's screen has better color performance, while my Samsung C24F390 but it's just not as bright. I'm pretty happy with my choice, since I use the system docked, so the keyboard and mouse aren't quite as hard a miss. Thank you for the good review, Dave!

Having watched so many review, I hate or like laptop cuz of keyboard or screen or such... So, let me tell u something. I just recently used $2 keyboard on a laptop I borrowed for some days, to play game. And it never bothered me. Yet when I look at review, I am scolding or praising company for cpu or build and such.
