oneplus disabled all their backdoors in oxygenos in 2017 i believe, along with data collection. Honestly, I would trust a oneplus phone way more than anything huawei or zte puts out. If you're worried about privacy, don't fret it especially if you are buying a nord. I believe they don't even sell nords in china. Thats why it actually managed to get 2 carriers in the us with absolutely zero concern from anyus regulator including china hawks.

I'm gonna buy the OnePlus Nord because it's fairly cheap with the spec sheet. The battery, CPU and high refresh rate screen? Totally worth the price I think.

Currently am using sd 855 and I switched from sd 636. For a normal user like me it really doesn't make any difference. All I need is a good display probably hdr10+ or Dolby vision. And good audio. Everything else is not really required.

I'm still using the 6T(McLaren) and it still feels like I bought it yesterday. Stable & fast. Those who want to get a OnePlus should get the Nord.

I don't think they're going to do it that low. I've been looking at phones similar to the same 765 g like Vivo X50 Pro 5G going for $700. I don't think it's going to be least $500 or $600 dollars.

Dave is correct though. Hardware is just less valuable. This became apparent to me whenever I purchased a pixel 3 a and a iPhone XR in the same year. The pixel 3 a turned out to be the better phone at half the price.

OnePlus do have a very strong foothold here in India. I think this is the only android smartphone that people consider buying with EMIs. Couple this with the global and national financial instability, I believe that a mid-low tier OnePlus smartphone will be off the shelves in no time.

My perspective, Pixel 3a opened the lazy eyes of manufacturers to the current reality....Phones have gotten too expensive to reach a majority of the consumer base. Pixel 3a blew it up last year and 'forced' Apple to come to market with the iPhone SE. And how has that phone sold for Apple? Yep, like hotcakes. Samsung has also done very well with their 'bargain' line of Galaxy phones. So it only makes sense that OnePlus jump into this segment too. And the Nord, at least on paper, looks like a winner (assuming your price guesses turn out to be real). If all these manufacturers want to continue to expand their base, well executed, value based offerings is the way to do it. Will I buy a Nord and make it my daily driver when it becomes available? There's a high probability of that outcome.
