I am getting the AORUS 15P. What is the difference between the 15P and the 15G?

Is the case made of metal or plastic?

This might be because I bought it in October(this video is from April) for a Black Friday Deal from Best Buy, but I got an HP Pavillion 15 inch Gaming Laptop with a Ryzen 4000 Series 5 in it for $599+tax out the door.

That's interesting all the issues mentioned about the challenges with and the need to adapt to a mechanical keyboard. Especially because the early IBM ThinkPads with the killer keyboards are TWO decades old and they were phenomenal!

So sadly couldn't get a hold of the RP17 with AMD as they keep going OOS. So bought an Aorus 17X - Intel 750h 10th or something with a 2070. Loved the asthetic and the ports were at the back but had 2 faulty models as the were scan sales. Then on the 3rd return product was end of life for them. So swapped and got a 17G with 850h and 2070 Super Max Q and I have to say it's brilliant. Same Keyboard on 17G as the 17X and this 15g and it's amazing to use not sure about this "learning curve" to use it. The fan is loud but the 17G is far quite than 17X. Thermals are good can confirm that. Only stupid thing for 17G is power and display ports being put to the side. Aorus control Centre already allows Overclock control.

Intel chips still perform better in gaming most of the time, due to higher clock speeds. So I’m sure it’s okay that it doesn’t have a Ryzen. So many fanboys of Ryzen. I remember when AMD was fighting to stay afloat.

the software on these are amazing. the Gigabyte support - absolutely worse than hell. Provided you NEVER have to contact gigabyte for ANYTHING - it's a great system. The online support forms nowhere? Infrastructure, is a joke. Seems like only 1 guy can do their job over there. They lost our system. Said they had not received it. We got multiple conflicting emails with different case numbers, and nobody doing anything. It was so bad, that after 3 MONTHS!!!! of them having the system and excuses that did not make sense... we got a full refund from the company we purchased from. Thank God, distributors are better at providing services than the products they become responsible for. IF NOTHING GOES WRONG - the system was a dream come true for techies that like to really control performance beyond the "Turbo, Power Save, Std" modes. I love everything about these EXCEPT GIGABYTE as a company.

For those who say this laptop got a downgrade because it's using intel CPU. This particular CPU in general is Intel's latest comet lake (10th Generation) CPU. It's actually better than the Ryzen 4000 series in terms of single-threaded applications such as gaming. However, for an all general-purpose use, Ryzen 4000 series is still a better option

What kind of 2060 do these come with

a) You don't have granular control over the fans. With a custom profile, you're limited to a minimum of 30% (more than they themselves use in the quiet profile and even the low end of the gaming profile) and the UI is wicked annoying. They might as well not have put it in at all. Especially considering b) b) Don't just casually call it "fan noise". I've compared 3 laptops in recent days, one of them happening to be kind of a no-name clone of the Aorus 15G. The Aorus 15G is the only one that has an incredibly annoying whistle that only disappears once the fans hit a speed that's so high that you won't care about it any more because it's so damn noisy overall.

There is no point to gaming laptops with rtx cards that only put out to FHD . I'm tired of the false hype of rtx cards being used on FHD panels for gaming. Get a 1660ti or older gtx laptop. The performance is on pare always at FHD. STOP recommending gaming laptops with RTX cards until they have the displays that is beneficial and cost conscientious for the consumer.

yes over a month later on this video, but the fact that all the tech reviewers and specifically saying "the next nvidia graphics cards are coming out within 6 months" kinda bothers me. Everyone knows not to buy these new release laptops now because newer graphics are so close (3 year cycle, yes it's worth waiting a few months, or you'll be stuck with this). I wish there was a "just a heads up, if you are looking at this, there may be some new nvidia laptops coming" part of these reviews.
